4.6.3 Empty Calibration
1. On the PFD, select the desired fuel tank (LEFT or RIGHT). Note that for extended range tanks,
there are two fuel probes each for the LEFT and RIGHT tanks. The fuel quantity from both
probes is summed and displayed as a single tank quantity to the pilot. However, the raw data can
be seen from both probes independently on the PFD at the FUEL TANK CALIBRATION page.
2. Verify that unusable fuel has been added to the selected tank. Allow the fuel probe(s) to stabilize
for at least 2 minutes.
3. Press the EMPTY softkey. The cursor will automatically activate and select the CALIBRATE?
option. The calibrated value setting will default to 0.00.
4. Press the ENT key. A prompt appears requesting overwrite acknowledgement. Select YES and
press the ENT key. The G1000 system will ‘zero’ the actual fuel quantity value to be displayed.
5. Observe the CALIBRATED TOTAL indication for the selected tank. Verify that it remains at
0.00 GL.
