GDC 74A Backup Path Description:
The GDC 74A Air Data Computer has 4 redundant communication paths which are capable of supplying
ARINC 429 air data information to the PFD and MFD. The primary path is the ARINC 429 bus between
the GDC 74A and the PFD. The secondary backup path is the ARINC 429 bus input to the MFD. The
tertiary backup path inputs ARINC data to GIA1, where it is then sent over HSDB to the PFD. The last
backup path inputs ARINC data to GIA2, where it is then sent over HSDB to the MFD. The air data is
then cross-filled to the appropriate display.
