SVS / Pathways are a pilot-selectable feature. The display of SVS can be turned on and off by the pilot by
a dedicated softkey on the PFD. The display of Pathways requires that the 3D Terrain feature be
displayed (i.e. SYN TERR softkey pressed).
When active, the Pathway is displayed on the PFD and will show flight path information in the form of a
virtual 3D flight path, composed of rectangular elements which form a tunnel. The depiction of this
pathway is derived from the existing FMS navigation capabilities of the G1000, and the display will be
consistent with that of the active flight plan shown on the MFD.
2.4 GFC 700 AFCS System Description
For system software versions 0321.22 and earlier there was only one GFC 700 option which is
represented by the Standard GFC 700 description listed below.
• GFC 700 - GSM 85 Servo Gearbox and GSA 81 Servo Actuator
(P/N 011-00878-00)
For system software version 0321.23 and later the GFC 700 AFCS System has two (2) possible
installation options.
Dependent on the desired aircraft configuration the appropriate option will be selected and loaded. The
two options are listed below:
• Standard GFC 700 - GSM 85 or GSM 86 Servo Gearbox and GSA 81 Servo Actuator
(P/N 011-00878-00)
• Enhanced GFC 700 – GSM 86 Servo Gearbox (P/N 011-01904-03) and GSA 81 Servo
Actuator (P/N 011-00878-20)
Enhanced GFC 700:
An option for GFC 700 with GSM 86 Servo Gearbox (P/N 011-01904-03) and GSA 81 Servo Actuator
(P/N 011-00878-20) is available to the DA40 / DA40F. For this option the GSA 81 Pitch, Pitch Trim,
and Roll Servos software has been introduced at version 3.11. This option was added to allow enhanced
LRU and system operation and is a requirement for future GFC 700 functionality.
New functionality provided by the Enhanced GFC 700 option is as follows:
• GSM Automated Slip Clutch Torque Check
• Autopilot Expanded Engagement
• Aural AIRSPEED alert
