4.11 PFD/MFD Power Interrupt Function Checks
4.11.1 PFD/MFD Power Interrupt Function Check (All except SW v0321.22)
The MFD and PFD power interrupt backup capacitors must be checked every aircraft annual.
1. Remove the MFD and PFD displays following the instructions shown in Section 6.1.
2. Review the TSO label on each display. Check the MOD Status block against Table 4-4:

a) If display meets or exceeds the minimum MOD status required as specified in Table 4-4, then no
further action is required. Reinstall the display according to Section 6.1.
b) If one or both displays do not meet the specified MOD status, then the following procedure must
be performed.
3. Verify the ambient air temperature is at least 70° Fahrenheit. Apply power to both displays and leave
them on for a minimum of 11 minutes.
4. Remove power from both displays. Place both displays in Configuration mode by holding the ENT
key while applying power.
5. Using the FMS knob go to the GDU TEST page (Figure 4-13) on the MFD and PFD (part of the
GDU Page Group).
6. Verify the BKUP CAPS light is green. If the BKUP CAPS light is red, replace the GDU.
