A configuration mismatch has
occurred between the display and
the PFD Configuration Module.
Cycle power 2-3 times.
Ensure the MFD/PFD connector is fully
seated and locked.
Reload system configuration files. See
Section 3.5.
Press the UPDT CFG softkey on the
System Upload page to re-synchronize
system ID and other settings with the
PFD configuration module.
9 If message persists, check
configuration module wiring
and pins for damage.
9 If no wire or pin damage is
found, replace PFD
configuration module. See
Section 6.12.
If the problem persists, replace the
MFD/PFD.

5.8.2 Database Alerts

MFD1 DB ERR – MFD1 aviation
database error exists.
The MFD or PFD has
encountered an error in the
Jeppesen aviation database.
Attempt to update the aviation database
to both displays.
If the error persists, replace the MFD or
PFD.
PFD1 DB ERR – PFD1 aviation
database error exists.
MFD1 DB ERR – MFD1 basemap
database error exists.
The MFD or PFD has
encountered an error in the
basemap database.
Basemaps are stored on internal ROM
within the GDU displays. However,
basemaps are now included on the 010-
00330-42 database cards. For GDU
software 7.00 and greater, the G1000
will use the basemap on the card in lieu
of the internal when the -42 card is
installed.
If this message is received, and the -42
card is NOT present, try installing a -42
card in the problematic display and see
if the issue goes away.
If this message is received and the -42
card IS present, removed the card and
verify that the message goes away. If
so, then replace the -42 card.
If the error persists, Garmin Aviation
Technical Support for assistance.
