Step Desired Result
(SW v0321.22 or later)
Dual GPS Failure Conditions:
1. Cover both GPS antennas. Verify loss of
signal on MFD AUX page 3.
2. Check for desired results.
3. Remove shrouds from GPS antennas.
4. Allow both receivers to re-acquire satellite
signals before continuing.
Dual GPS Failure – For a dual GPS failure, the following
shall occur:
9 GPS CDI is removed
9 HSI flags LOI on PFD within 30 seconds, all GPS data
is removed from the GPS Fields
9 Attitude and Heading remain valid from AHRS.
9 Airspeed, Altitude, Vertical Speed, and OAT remain
valid from Air Data Computer.
9 GPS NAV LOST alert given (press ALERTS softkey)
9 TAWS N/A annunciation given.*
When GPS satellites are re-acquired, verify that the INTEG
OK annunciation is given on the HSI in white for a brief
period of time then disappears.
Verify that the system returns to normal navigation mode
(GPS CDI restored, LOI annunciation removed, & GPS
data magenta).
*If equipped.
8.2.2 GIA Failure Test
This test verifies redundant systems operate as intended.
For this test, provide a valid localizer signal to NAV1 and NAV2.

Step Desired Result
Single GIA Failure Conditions:
1. On the PFD select CDI to LOC1.
2. Remove power from GIA1 by pulling
NAV/GPS1 and COM1 breakers.
3. Check for desired results.
4. Restore power to GIA1. Allow GPS1 to re-
acquire satellites.
GIA1 Failure – For a GIA1 failure, only the following
shall flag invalid:
9 COM1/NAV1 field (PFD & MFD).
9 NAV1 CDI loses deviation bar (PFD only).
9 Red AFCS status annunciation given.*
9 “AHRS1 using backup GPS” alert given.
9 ESP FAIL alert is given*
5. On the PFD select CDI to LOC2.
6. Remove power from GIA2 by pulling
NAV/GPS2 and COM2 breakers.
7. Check for desired results.
8. Restore power to GIA2. Allow GPS2 to re-
acquire satellites.
GIA2 Power Failure – For a GIA2 failure, only the
following shall flag invalid:
9 COM2/NAV 2 field (PFD & MFD).
9 NAV2 CDI loses deviation bar (PFD only).
9 Red AFCS status annunciation given.*
9 “AHRS not receiving backup GPS information” alert is
given.
9 ADF/DME windows flag invalid.*
9
ESP FAIL alert is given*
