9. Once the files are selected press the LOAD softkey.
10. When the upload is complete, press the ENT key to select OK in the upload complete window.
11. Verify that each column indicates in green when the loading process has finished and
inspect the SUMMARY window as well to ensure that the load is successful.
12. After the software and configuration files are loaded, turn off the system and remove the G1000
system software loader card. Reinsert the supplemental database cards in the bottom slot of each
display. Be sure to insert the card removed from the MFD back into the MFD.
13. Continue to the testing section.
7.9.2 GDL 59 Test
This check verifies the GDL 59 is configured and is functional. This check requires that the aircraft be
positioned outside for Iridium satellite reception.
On the PFD, open the ALERT window and verify there are no GDL 59 MANIFEST or configuration
error messages.
1. Position the aircraft outside in a clear unobstructed area for Iridium satellite reception.
2. Power up the PFD in configuration mode.
3. On the PFD, select the GDL page group using the large FMS knob.
4. Using the small FMS knob select the GSR56 Configuration page. Verify the page can be
displayed and information is available.

5. Restart the G1000 System in Normal Mode.
6. On the MFD, using the large FMS knob, select the AUX page group, then using the small FMS
knob, select the AUX-TELEPHONE page.
7. Ensure the system is displaying Iridium signal strength in green, Figure 7-20. If the Iridium
signal strength is displayed in blue there is no signal present.
