6.14 GA35 GPS/WAAS Antennas
Remove and install the GA35 GPS/WAAS antennas following the instructions given on the appropriate
installation drawings:
• Install Modification, G1000/KAP140, WAAS, Diamond DA40/40F, drawing 005-00464-00
• Install Modification, G1000/GFC700, WAAS In Diamond DA40/40F, drawing 005-00464-10
• Install Modification, G1000, WAAS, No Autopilot, Diamond DA40/40F, drawing 005-00464-15
NOTE
Prior to the introduction of system software version 0321.23, the GA35 GPS/WAAS
antenna installation is captured on the General Arrangement drawings 005-00400-08,
005-00400-10, and 005-00400-15.
For procedural instructions on accessing the GPS antennas, refer to the DA40 Aircraft Maintenance
Manual, Chapter 34-58-00, Section 5.
6.15 GDL 59 Datalink (Optional)
Removal:
1. Remove the baggage compartment floor and compartment to gain access to the GDL 59.
2. Unlock the GDL 59 handle by loosening the Phillips screw on the handle.
3. Pull the handle upward to unlock the GDL 59. Gently remove the unit from the rack.
Replacement:
1. Visually inspect the connectors using a flashlight to ensure there are no bent or damaged pins.
Repair any damage.
2. Gently insert the GDL 59 into its rack. The handle should engage the dogleg track.
3. Press down on the GDL 59 lever locking handle to lock the unit into the rack.
4. Lock the handle to the GDL 59 body using the Philips screw.
5. Configure and test the GDL 59 according to Section 7.9.
6. Reinstall the baggage compartment floor and compartment removed to gain access to the
GDL 59.
6.16 GSR 56 Satellite Transceiver (Optional)
Removal:
1. Remove the baggage compartment floor and compartment to gain access to the GSR 56.
2. Unlock the unit from the rack by loosening the ratcheting latch mechanism.
3. Remove the unit from the rack.
Replacement:
1. Visually inspect the connectors using a flashlight to ensure there are no bent or damaged pins.
Repair any damage.
2. Gently insert the GSR 56 into its rack.
3. Press down on the GSR 56 lever locking handle to lock the unit into the rack.
4. Lock the unit into the rack by using the ratcheting latch mechanism.
